Introduction

The Robin I. Kroogman Animal Shelter is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Kennel Worker. This position involves providing humane care to animals and maintaining the facility to ensure the well-being of our furry residents. If you are passionate about animals and possess the necessary skills, we encourage you to apply.

The Kennel Worker position is an excellent entry-level opportunity in the field of animal care and shelter management. Unlike many other animal care positions that may require specialized certifications like NACA (National Animal Care & Control Association) Level trainings, this role offers a starting point for individuals passionate about animals but may not yet possess extensive formal training or experience.

For candidates interested in pursuing a career in animal care, the Kennel Worker position provides an excellent learning opportunity. New hires will receive on-the-job training, enabling them to learn essential skills for handling animals safely and humanely. They may also be introduced to the proper administration of medications, basic first aid procedures, and record-keeping related to animal care.

Working as a Kennel Worker can help candidates develop a strong foundation in animal care and provide exposure to various aspects of shelter operations. As they gain experience and demonstrate their dedication to the well-being of animals, they may have opportunities for career growth within the organization or beyond.
