Summary

The Terminal Concession Program Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the planning and management of the airport’s terminal concessions program.  This position is expected to optimize revenue and customer satisfaction associated with CLT’s in terminal concession program.  This position will ensure concession operations and financial obligations in accordance with lease agreements.  

This position will develop and maintain good working relationships with existing and prospective tenants/vendors and other airport departments to effectively complete development projects.  This role is expected to be able to anticipate and answer questions, resolve complaints from interested parties, and participate in various industry-specific surveys and reports. This role will support other in-terminal concession initiatives as requested.

Standard office hours apply Monday-Friday, however urgent/emergency situations, meetings and special projects may require occasional non-traditional work hours. 

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop innovative and creative initiatives to elevate the overall concessions program to enhance the customer experience and make the program first-in-class.
• Analyzes and interprets industry trends and factors to develop and optimize the use of facilities, customer experience, and revenue related to the overall concessions program. 
• Assist in contract(s) compliance management functions associated with the Terminal’s Concession Program. 
• Participate and contribute to tenant development projects and ensure CLT requirements and standards are satisfied during design review and construction phases.
• Ensure lease agreement requirements are met specific to financial commitments and obligations by concessionaires.  This includes monitoring and maintaining all billings for the terminal concession program with an emphasis on Food & Beverage and Retail.
• Monitor the success of the concession program through performances highlighted in monthly sales reports, profit share reports, etc. 
• Attend all concession-related meetings and events to provide recommendations and suggestions, and to remain up-to-date and informed on the Airport’s overall Concession Program. 
• Serve as the primary point of contact to concessionaires for all Tenant Modification Application (TMA) requests and Construction Logistics Impacts (CLI) requests.
• Coordinate temporary concession concepts during the construction process and ensure design standards are being met, and lease exhibits remain up to date. 
• Coordinate with other tenants and keep Aviation staff abreast of concession activity and projects.
• Conduct routine terminal inspections with a focus on concession venues, including but not limited to, kitchens and support premises, store appearance, cleanliness, staffing levels, merchandising, hours of operation, signage, music noise levels, pricing, etc. 
• Work collaboratively with Airport Maintenance to ensure concession spaces are maintained to comply with contract requirements. 
• Answer questions and resolve complaints related to concession matters. 
• Participate in various industry-specific surveys and reports including an airport network of concession managers, Airport Revenue News (ARN), Airports Council International (ACI), etc.
• Serve as a point of contact for companies, businesses and organizations that currently do, or are interested in doing, business with the Airport that results in non-airline revenue to the Airport.  
• Support other concessions and amenities in the terminal as necessary or requested.

Preferred Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field with one year of experience or an Associate degree with three years of experience. Experience should be specific to commercial property management and/or contract/lease administration, or tenant property management with an emphasis on food, retail or other service offerings. Aviation/airport industry experience strongly preferred.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and 9 years' experience

OR

Associate degree and 7 years' experience

OR

Bachelor's degree and 5 years' experience

OR

Master's degree and 3 years' experience
