This position is responsible for providing technical assistance to two VS Rehabilitation Specialists and their consumers in the provision of Visual Services' programs and direct services to consumers.  Duties include maintaining scanned case files according to agency standards; timely and accurately processing case information through the agency's client data system; assisting VR Specialists in all phases of case management to assist VS consumers in reaching the goal of successful employment outcomes; as well as providing technical assistance to the Program Manager as needed. Applicant must be willing to perform all job related travel. Probationary period (or trial period if applicable) is required.

Background Check:  Effective January 1, 2012, the successful candidates for positions at the Oklahoma Department of Rehabilitation Services will be required to pass an Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation criminal investigation and background check.

Positions in this job family are assigned responsibilities for performing skilled and complex technical work assisting professional rehabilitation staff in providing rehabilitation services to individuals with physical and mental disabilities, blindness or visual impairment.


The Rehabilitation Technician job family consists of three levels of work which are distinguished by the level of complexity and diversity of the specific job assignments, the extent of responsibility assigned and the expertise required for the completion of the duties assigned.

Level I:
This is the basic level where employees are assigned responsibilities for performing entry-level work in a training status under close supervision.  In this role employees will be responsible for providing information pertaining to rehabilitation and visual services programs; arranging client medical procedures with vendors; researching and assembling case records and performing tasks related to general office operations.  Employees at this level will receive training in the client interview process and in policy and procedure interpretation.


Level I:
Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of one year of experience in office technical clerical work.

Selection Plan

Scores based on:  50% Written Test and 50% Typing Test
