A Statistical Assistant II is the full performance level semi-professional statistical work. Employees in this classification may be assigned responsibility for routine data collection procedures or other statistical operations including preparation of standard tabulations and reports. Employees in this classification work closely with higher-level staff in planning, developing and evaluating methods for implementing routine statistical programs and once these are established, proceed independently in their application and in required orientation and training of supportive clerical and statistical workers. Employees in this classification, under the direction of a professional Research Statistician, may be involved in planning and conducting more complex special studies and projects.
Employees in this classification receive general direction and supervision by a professional statistician. Work effectiveness is evaluated through conferences and reports.
