A Daily Lottery Administrator is highly responsible work directing and coordinating the operation of the Maryland State Daily Lottery Game. The employee in this classification exercises considerable independent judgment in the interpretation and application of laws, procedures and regulations in connection with the Daily Lottery. This employee devises and installs work procedures and administrative controls. The employee is required to have wide, varied public contacts and frequently at high levels. The employee in this classification exercises director over all the technical, professional and clerical positions assigned to the Daily Lottery operation.
The employee in this classification receives direction from the Lottery Director. Work effectiveness is evaluated through conferences and reports in terms of the achievement of agency goals.
Positions in this classification are evaluated using the classification job evaluation methodology. The use of this method involves comparing assigned duties and responsibilities of a position to the job criteria found in the Nature of Work and Examples of Work Sections of the class specification.
Directs the activities of the Maryland State Lottery Game;
Supervises the installation or removal of telephone lines and terminals at new and/or existing sales locations;
Develops schedules for the timely installation of new Daily Lottery terminals at locations through out the State;
Supervises the training of new agents in the use of the computer sales terminals;
Acts as coordinator and liaison on behalf of the State Lottery Agency with the Daily Lottery vendor and the telephone company;
Monitors the collection efforts of the Daily Lottery vendor from agents;
Monitors and evaluates the service and effectiveness of the Daily Lottery vendor;
Monitors and evaluates the performance of Daily Lottery agents, and if necessary, initiates corrective action;
Evaluate credit check procedures and financial stability of Daily Lottery agents;
Analyzes and studies public problems and complaints concerning the Daily Lottery agents such as pay-off refusal, low sales, etc.;
Undertakes feasibility studies of agent locations throughout the State; Assists in supervising the Daily Lottery televised drawings;
Performs other related duties as required.

This is a Management Service classification in the State Personnel Management System. All positions in this classification are Management Service positions.
This classification is not assigned to a bargaining unit, as indicated by the designation of S (Supervisor), M (Manager), T (Agency Head), U (Board or Commission Member), W (Student), X (Used by Agency or Excluded by Executive Order), or Z (Confidential). As provided by State Personnel and Pensions Article, Section 3-102, special appointment, temporary, contractual, supervisory, managerial and confidential employees are excluded collective bargaining. Additionally, certain executive branch agencies are exempt from collective bargaining and all positions in those agencies are excluded from collective bargaining.
