This is a sworn law enforcement position which functions as the second in command for DGS Maryland Capitol Police (DGS-MCP), providing direct support to the Chief of Police in the overall command, control and management of the approximately 170 member department. In the extended absence of the Chief of Police, the Deputy Chief bas full authority for management, command and control of the department to include personnel actions, LEOBR and budget issues.
