Strategic Mobility Division
Charlotte is one of the fastest growing cities in the nation and is a leader in mobility planning and investment that integrates land use with multi-modal transportation choices. In 2022, the City of Charlotte adopted a Strategic Mobility Plan, which expands on the Charlotte Future 2040 Comprehensive Plan’s goal of creating Safe and Equitable Mobility. The City is actively implementing those plans along with several other key initiatives that support them, including a recently-adopted Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) and supporting documents such as the Charlotte Streets Map and Streets Manual.
CDOT is a leader in progressive transportation and believes that meaningful and informative community engagement is integral to shaping how Charlotte’s mobility needs are addressed. Creating successful relationships with the community requires dedication, energy, and a thoughtful approach. CDOT is seeking a talented individual with a passion for communications, engagement, and public service to help creatively and effectively share the City’s vision for mobility with the community.
The Public Coordinator position is housed in the recently formed Strategic Mobility Division of the Charlotte Department of Transportation (CDOT) and is part of the team responsible for planning Charlotte’s future mobility networks and investments. This team collaborates across departments, partner agencies, and the community to achieve multi-modal solutions that shape Charlotte’s rapid growth and development while prioritizing safe and equitable mobility options. This position is responsible for increasing public awareness of on-going initiatives and developing and maintaining community relationships.
