Summary

This position administers staffing, scheduling, gate access and capacity in a highly secure environment at Charlotte Douglas International Airport.  Work is performed with latitude for discretion, independent judgment, and action under minimal supervision; initiative is expected.

General Information:
Works office hours Monday through Friday. Hours subject to change and overtime.  Works assigned shift, including holidays, and report back to work during emergencies, urgent situations, special events and inclement weather. 
Valid driver’s license required with no more than six points in order to qualify for and maintain a City driving permit.
Certain convictions will disqualify individuals from unescorted access privileges and therefore exclude from employment.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

1. Manages and administers access to the Airport Operational Database (AODB) and Resource Management System (RMS) to comply with login and password compliance requirements.
2. Creates, edits and manages rules and process updates to the AODB/RMS system (Changes in gate capacity, addition of new gates, reduction in aircraft types, etc.)
3. Utilizes RMS/AODB resources to prevent exceeding capacity of the FIS facility for International Arrivals.
4. Reviews data from other systems, such as the Baggage Inline System, to assist with tenant invoicing. 
5. Creates links, updates and allocates flights via the AirIT AODB/RMS system.
6. Facilitate monthly Gate Management Meeting to resolve scheduling conflicts and develop both long and short range gate schedules.
7. Send monthly email notifications to remind air carriers of the schedule submission due dates.
8. Maintain gate use records and statistics in support of the new AUA (Average daily turns per gate, Average daily seats per gate, etc.)
9. Ensure proper notification, distribution and compliance with various entities of the Gate Use Procedures and related rules, directions, and notices (maximum gate use times on Common Use gates, etc.)
10. Receive Upload and Review Advances Schedules, RON Requests, and other parking requests.
11. Evaluate and identify priorities in Gate/Flight Scheduling (Priorities listed in the Procedures for Parking and Gate Use, Assignment, and Scheduling)
12. Monitors and reviews commercial air carriers schedule to determine aircraft gate and parking availability in order to prevent conflicts in gate assignments; resolves scheduling conflicts.
13. Assists Air Carriers in scheduling flights based on Gate Availability.
14. Receives and reviews charter flight requests and provides gate assignments as for flights as needed.
15. Develop and distribute facility operational schedules to air carriers, tenants, and Airport Staff. 
16. Manages daily gate assignments and reassignments in real time.
17. Obtains updated flight information from various sources, in support of providing accurate and timely information for real time management of airport resources.
18. Researches and assembles informational data from a variety of sources for the completion of forms and various other documents in support of airport wide projects and department inquiries.
19. Input/edit, and change closures in the AODB/RMS system for gates out of service/MTC requests.
20. Monitors airfield capacity/schedules to support irregular operations (Weather, diversions, etc.)
21. On occasion, may assist with aircraft parking planning, which includes both gate parking and hardstand parking. Works with various divisions to ensure gates and hardstands are appropriately marked for aircraft that will be scheduled to use said areas. 
22. Oversee the activities of subordinate airport operations gate management personnel.
23. When necessary, will assist with Terminal Operations functions such as the coordination of customer service efforts during irregular operations, and lobby management. 
24. Other duties as assigned. 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Requires thorough understanding of Airport Operations and security directives.
Requires logistics knowledge or experience in managing large numbers of simultaneous diverse operations.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint). 
Excellent organizational, interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
Skills to multi-task, complete projects on schedule and with minimal instruction and supervision.
Ability to work effectively with tenants, co-workers, employees from other departments and companies, and represent the Airport in a positive, professional manner.
Ability to work independently as well as a team member with diverse workgroups.
Ability to solve problems independently.
Ability to apply creative methods to work tasks and problem solving. 

Physical Requirements:
This position is often sedentary in nature but may require extended periods of walking in internal and external environments for up to a mile.  May involve possible exposure to chemicals, fumes, solvents, machinery, moving objects/vehicles, dust, slippery/uneven surfaces, confined spaces and excessive noise. Remainder of time could be spent bending, reaching, standing and driving.  May lift up to 25 lbs. and carry for a short distance (up to 50 feet).

Preferred Qualification

Prefer at least one year experience at a FAR Part 139 commercial service airport in a position in airport operations, safety or airport management.  Prefer AAAE ACE (Operations) or Certified Member designation.  Experience providing first-rate customer service and/or coordinating multiple projects and tasks preferred.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Graduate or Equivalent and five years related work experience

OR

Associate's Degree and three years related work experience

OR

Bachelor's Level Degree and one year related work experience
