Summary
The Aviation Technology Infrastructure Supervisor maintains oversight of the staff in the installation, administration, and maintenance of technology infrastructure and infrastructure operations.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
• Supervises the work of assigned personnel, including assigning and reviewing work, providing guidance, and conducting performance evaluations.
• Provides daily monitoring and supervision of the City’s IT systems and facilities to ensure efficient and effective system operations and uptime.
• Performs project planning and service delivery, including incident requests and change management. Addresses any issues to minimize delays and avoid affecting project success. Manages outside vendors and service provider performance.
• Identifies trends / recurring issues for long-term remediation. Reviews and approves team change request for impacts and compliance with process and procedures. Ensures requests are handled in a timely fashion in accordance with City service level agreements.
• Supports and coordinates work with the Information Security and other technology teams in support of the City’s Departments, Users and Line-of-Business applications.
• Provides design, implementation, and deployment assistance on various projects from all departments in City.
• Monitors customer inquiries and ensures appropriate and timely solutions.
• Assists with design, implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of primary and secondary datacenters.
• Assists with setting long term strategy for the technology infrastructure environment.
• Performs related work as required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Work requires providing guidance and technical expertise to multiple team verticals including, Data Storage/Backup, Networking, Compute, and Layer 1 infrastructure. Work requires managing and monitoring work performance of a major departmental function including making final recommendations or decisions on hiring and disciplinary actions, evaluating program/work objectives and effectiveness, and realigning work and staffing assignments, as needed. Complexity may be determined by level of direct supervisory responsibility.

Preferred Qualification
• At least two years of relevant college-level course work or an Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field-
• Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in data center operations, system administration or network design and administration, depending on assignment, including prior supervisory experience.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or Equivalent AND 9 years related experience
OR
Associate's Degree AND 7 years related experience
OR
Bachelor's Degree AND 5 years related experience
OR
Master's Degree AND 3 years related experience
Conditions of Employment
The City’s Background Check Policy requires background checks to be conducted on final internal or external candidate(s) applying for any position with the City of Charlotte.
