Function

The Landside Operations Specialist coordinates the Charlotte Douglas International Airport Employee Parking program, provide customer service, research parking issues and discrepancies, issue refunds and provide administrative support to the Landside Operations Team, a department of the Airport Operations Division. 

Summary

This role requires strong interpersonal skills and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment. The work requires initiative, time management, proficiency in Microsoft Excel, database systems, and excellent communication skills for interactions with staff at all levels of the organization, airport tenants and stakeholders, as well as the general public.  Work is evaluated based on customer feedback, observation, and work product.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

1. Provides customer service and administrative support to the Landside Operations Section of the Airport Operations Division and coordinate the CLT Employee Parking Program. Research customer service issues, maintains the Employee Parking Database. Assign, activate, track, de-activate, and audit Parking Access Cards and hangtags. Using the Parking Revenue Control System (PARCS), input the data from the Employee Parking Database.
2. Track, assign, report, and bill for all employee parking options at the Airport.  Prepare employer billing advices and submit for payment.
3. Research and resolve issues concerning customer concerns and employee parking. Provides courteous and helpful service to internal and external customers in person, in writing and over the phone.  Handles assigned guest complaints and requests concerning employee parking. Disseminates information to and relays messages from aviation employees, tenants, contractors, and vendors. 
4. Inventory and orders for Employee PAC cards and hangtags. Orders specialty items/request quotes from various vendors for the department as needed.
5. Completes special projects and performs directed research. Types, edits, and proofs correspondence and other documents. Performs data entry, completes reports, and maintains records. Research, maintains, and distributes compiled data for various reports, records, and documents. Files, faxes, copies, and compiles documents.   
6. Plot/print and order signs that are requested so that Operations can quickly make adjustments to assist passengers.
7. Completes P-Card purchases and reconciliation for self and back-up for other office staff members
8. Offer support and work with Landside contracts to ensure that they have necessary tools and are in compliance with contract and SOPs.
9.Support other Airport Operations Sections by performing assistance duties for irregular and emergency operations such as crowd control, fire watches, escorts, and other duties deemed necessary for continuity of operations.
10. Other duties, as assigned.

• Skills to compose, edit and print professional letters and memos in Word, enter data in Excel, and compose professional emails, enter and organize data, and schedule appointments in Outlook.

• Skills to manage time well and keep work organized in an effective manner. 
• Ability to handle increasingly complex / confidential / sensitive executive level duties. 
• Ability to express ideas effectively, both orally as well as in writing.
• Ability to identify and analyze problems and identify possible solutions in support of established goals.
• Ability to identify and effectively respond to issues, concerns, and needs.
• Ability to work independently as well as a team member with diverse workgroups.
• Ability to maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, other City departments, and the public, representing the Airport in a positive manner.

Preferred Qualification

Experience preferably includes customer service, telephone systems, secretarial work, database entry, record keeping and filing. Airport experience a plus.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Graduate or Equivalent and one year(s) of related work experience
